Bass Kammersänger KONSTANTIN GORNY, hailed by the international press for this “sonorous, powerful voice of dark color” and
his “breathtaking stage presence” and named <Best singer of the Year> by renowned magazine <Die Opernwelt> for his interpretation of Boito's MEFISTOFELE, established himself to one of the most sought after artists for the Basso-Profondo-parts; and since many seasons, he is a highly valued member of the ensemble at State Theatre Karlsruhe, where he in the 2023/24 will embody in new productions ZACCARIA in Verdi's "Nabuco", HERMANN - Landgraf von Thüringen in Wagner's "Tannhäuser" and DON ALFONSO in Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte", and in revivals VODNIK in Dvořák's "Rusalka" and LINDORF, COPPÉLIUS, MIRACLE, DAPERTUTTO in Offenbach's "Les Contes d'Hoffmann".
After his studies at the Caikovsky-Conservatory in Moskau, Konstantin Gorny began his international career as IL GRAN SACERDOTE in Verdi’s “Nabucco at the
